The Air Jordan II (2) was released after Michael Jordan’s second year in the NBA. Every single pair of Air Jordan II was made in Italy. The Air Jordan II featured quality Italian leather which was inspired fram a 19th century Italian woman’s boot. The original colorway was white and red. Three other colors of the Air Jordan II were released in 1987. The Air Jordan II was actually released to the general public during the 1987-88 NBA season, which was Michael’s third season in the NBA.

The Air Jordan II was the first sneaker made by Nike that did not feature Nike’s trademark swoosh logo.

Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore designed the Air Jordan II. The Air Jordan II would also be last pair of Air Jordans designed by Peter Moore. Just like the Air Jordan I, a lot of innovative design went into the Air Jordan II. The low-top and high-top versions of the Air Jordan II were very different from other basketball shoes.

There were many theories that tried to explain why a black version of the Air Jordan II’s was never released, but this mystery continues to puzzle collectors.
