In the quest to continue the 26 year tradition started with the AIR JORDAN I, Jordan Brand aspired to once again introduce a product that would change the face of the basketball footwear industry. The AIR JORDAN 2011 is the first performance basketball shoe to feature two interchangeable midsoles for performance customization.
With each AIR JORDAN, Michael Jordan challenges the Brand to create a ground-breaking shoe. With Jordan Brand design legend Tinker Hatfield at the helm, the AIR JORDAN 2011 will once again revolutionize the game of basketball. The AIR JORDAN 2011 was built purely with basketball in mind and features two interchangeable midsoles designed to give players the option of being quicker or more explosive.
For the player that would like to be quicker on court, the blue midsole incorporates heel and forefoot Zoom Air Units that give an extra responsive ride. The red midsole was built for players that would like to be more explosive and infuses a 3/4 length Air Unit and Cushlon midsole for an extra cushioned ride.
In addition, the AIR JORDAN 2011 introduces a new material that has never before been featured on a performance basketball shoe – handcrafted Patina leather. Each AIR JORDAN 2011 shoe is hand burnished, making every pair unique and premium, upon completion.
